Why Are HBCU's Important?

Historically Black College Universities are golden. Before HBCU's there were only PWI's. When Black people were slaves, they were not allowed to learn. They were not allowed to take in any source of knowledge. However, since we as African Americans are so superior, it didn't last much longer. Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." The slave masters were afraid to introduce Black people to knowledge. They knew that Blacks would be able to do so much with it. I am proud to attend a Historically Black College. It's like a family being at SCSU. You get an education like no other. Most teachers make sure you are on the same page as far as learning. It is also an intimate setting, if you need help with a question it will get answered.

"HBCU's provide an important space for the fight for civil rights, equality, and black liberation." -Huffington Post

My BOMB Macaroni

I recently learned how to make macaroni. My friends and I had a Christmas dinner before we went home for winter break. I made the mac and cheese. I called my mom and asked for the recipe and she told me all the ingredients that I needed. Boom just like that everyone loved it. I also made it for Christmas dinner.

G.O.A.T.

G.O.A.T stands for "greatest of all time." The goat in my life is my mother. She is always there for me when I don't have the answers. She is also very intelligent and driven to becoming better at what she does. Her name is Brenna. My mom has her bachelor's degree, and two master's degrees. I aspire to be just as successful as her or even more. I say more successful, so that I can give her everything she wants. She is a single mom, her and my grandmother raised me. My grandmother passed away when I was only 9 years old. We were both very close to her.  My grandmother still treated my mom as if she was still her young child. I don't know how, but my mom always knows what to say when my days are not the best. I always let her know how much I love her and how she deserves the world.
