What is News?


The newspaper that I chose to analyze is Times and Democrat. The paper was published on February 5, 2019. It is a local Orangeburg newspaper and they have new papers daily. Below I sorted out the different stories using the nine news characteristics.

Consequence: Escapee's dad in prison
A man from Orangeburg helped his son escape prison and is now facing the consequences. They will now put him in jail.

Prominence: Grammy nominated rapper in U.S. custody
