My Thoughts About Twitter

Twitter is a very active and fast pace social media website. Twitter is my personal favorite social media account. After that I would say Instagram, only because I like posting pictures. Whenever I want to laugh I open up my Twitter app and start scrolling through my feed. My tweets have gone viral before. I had a time where I tweeted something that I seen in a Walgreens and everyone retweeted it. I had 1,000 retweets on it. However, my account that I went viral on is now suspended.

They suspended my account because when I first joined Twitter I was only 12 years old. In the guidelines that make it known that you have to be 13 years and older. Back in December I tried changing my birth year to the correct year. Twitter then sent me a message saying that my account will be temporary suspended until they investigate. So now I am using a new page that I recently created, and I don't have as nearly as many followers as I did before.

I joined Twitter 3 years after it launched in July 2006. There is always something new that I learn on Twitter. It is also good to get news updates from time to time. It's interesting to see celebrities thoughts and opinions when they tweet. Donald Trump only tweets to get on people's nerves. I don't pay him any attention. I would never follow him either. I follow Nicki Minaj, Obama, Michelle Obama. I admire all of them in some kind of way.

A church is restricting children from using the computers in the library due to people watching porn

Members of the Bellbuckle Interfaith Church are demanding that only adults are to use the computers in the Sunbright City Library.

 People have been using the computers to view porn. They are going to monitor what the adults watch. One of the founders of the group had a lot to say about the situation.

According to Mary Edith Ricks, she doesn't want her tax money to provide for pornography. She is one of the Christian members of the church, and feels strongly about this. As she was speaking to the audience about her protest, the audience cheered and agreed with her.

One person in the audience gave her a hard time. Someone asked a question about First Amendment rights and she shut the question down. The City Council and the library will have board meetings about the issue. Mary Edit Ricks wants to make sure that the members of the group attend.

About Linkedin

Linkedin is a website used to network and make connections regarding internships and jobs. It gives people the opportunity to connect and see what experience others have. Professors, students, and people that work corporate jobs use Linkedin. It's popular because it is a good way for people to find internships. I like how on Linkedin it gives you suggestions of people that you may know. I will try to connect with more people on my account. Networking is very imperative when you are in the communications field and looking for opportunities.

Many people that attend a university should have a profile on Linkedin. There are a lot of companies that are always looking to hire new people. Internships are very popular around the spring semester, because usually students want internships the following summer.

What is News?

The newspaper that I chose to analyze is Times and Democrat. The paper was published on February 5, 2019. It is a local Orangeburg newspaper and they have new papers daily. Below I sorted out the different stories using the nine news characteristics.

Comparing Front Covers

New York Times 1/24/19

The three news paper covers that I chose to pick are Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and The Wall Street Journal. All of these newspapers are published in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. All major cities with different topics to cover. Unless it is world wide coverage, most of the stories are local. Whenever there is a big national story it is usually always on the front page.

The front of the Chicago Tribune newspaper has a blue font title. It also has a Chicago skyline as the logo in the center of the title. Unlike the Los Angeles Times and The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune has the telephone number underneath the title. On all three newspapers the date is right underneath the title and header. All three of today's front page stories have something to do with Trump. Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and The Wall Street Journal are all
talking about Trump's retreat at the union.

All of the news paper covers are more similar than different. Although it seems like the front pages have no differences they do. However, I would have to say I like The Wall Street Journal front page the best. The column on the left side makes the front page look more organized.

A college student just trying to find her way around this world. Down to earth, calm, creative, funny and selfless. If someone were to ask me to describe myself that would be what I'd say.

From a suburb right outside of the city of Chicago. Now I am in South Carolina handling my education and trying to be successful in life. My major is journalism and I am currently a senior as of January 24th in the year 2019. My plans when I graduate are still loading, although I do have some ideas of what I would love to do. I enjoy YouTube, eating, shopping, writing and editing. Eating is probably my favorite hobby. The grinch once said, "Am I just eating because I'm bored?" I felt those words.

I didn't make too many New year's resolutions. However, going to the gym is now apart of my every day schedule. I'm a strong believer that mind, body, and soul is important. It is important to love and take care of yourself. Also, I want to be more consistent on my YouTube channel. Starting March I am making it a goal to post a video every week for my subscribers. All in all I enjoyed my winter break being home and eating good food.

5 Must Have Foods in the Windy City (Chicago)

Chicago has many different food restaurants that people visit just to get. They are known for more than five restaurants. These are the main ones I want to focus on. This list is some of my favorites and other people's favorites as well. As you read the list you may notice that some restaurants are beginning to expand. None of them are as good as Chicago's original. This list will help anyone who wonders what good food places there are when visiting the windy city.

1. Beggars Pizza

Beggars has some of the best pizza you could ever ask for. This legendary restaurant is a sit down restaurant and you can get it delivered to you. Some people also get carry out from the restaurant. They are known for making sure the cheese and sauce is thick on the pizza. It smells just as good as it tastes. Beggars is located in Illinois and nowhere else. 2. Giordanos

Giordanos is a mouthwatering deep dish pizza place. Chicago is known for the deep dish pizza, it is thicker than beggars! Giordanos has all types of toppings that customers can put on their pizza. They make sure that it is cheesy and full of flavor. They have 40 and more restaurants in the Chicago area. They are slowly making their way to the other states in the Midwest. Such as, Indiana and Ohio according to https://giordanos.com. This is more of a sit down restaurant. However, I do take pizza to go. I am never able to finish it all in one sitting.

3.Portillos Hot Dogs

Portillos is one of the most amazing spots to eat at while in Chicago area. It is best known for their hotdogs. I personally only had a hotdog from their once. The other fan favorite is their italian beef sandwiches. You have a choice to get the sandwich dipped in the meet juice. I normally get hot peppers, and mozarella cheese on it. The fries are so delicious and well salted. I make sure to always eat there when I go home for the breaks. Portillos was found in Chicago, but they have one location in Indiana and Florida.

4. Harold's Chicken Shack

The love I have for Harold's chicken is a different kind of love. The chicken place is unique because it has a special sauce to go on the chicken. The sauce is known as the infamous mild sauce. It is a sweet red looking sauce. At Harold's they put this sauce on top of the chicken and fries. It is very tasty and a must have. Their website is http://haroldschickenscorp.com/. They were found in Chicago, but the restaurant some how made its way to Atlanta. There's only one in Atlanta, but it has over 80 locations in Chicago.

5. Garret's Popcorn

This iconic popcorn has a unique and good taste. They serve cheese and caramel popcorn. They are known for their "Garret Mix" which consists of cheese and caramel blend. It is a great snack to get while visiting Chicago. Customers are able to order these treats online.
